If you check last week's Mauritian newspapers, you will find out that both the MMM and the MSM were on the point of coming up together again. Berenger started to praise Pravind and vice-versa. This happened in their recent public meetings. The population was the witness of these sayings. They even promised a united opposition to bring down the present government.
But this Friday (24/11), something happened. They started criticising each other again. Now, this makes us think.
How the hell can people who cannot even unite in an Opposition, be responsible enough to govern us?
Now we understand, how the economy went so chaotic when these 2 chaps were at the head of the State.
And the funniest thing is that neither Berenger nor Pravind is the leader of the opposition. What are they fighting for now? Are they really interested in the country? Or is it again who will be PM for the first 2 years and blabla ... ???
After all, nothing compare to the quality, experience, and maturity of the Mauritius Labour Party!
NOW, IMAGINE THE SITUATION THAT OUR TWO MISTER BEANS, DECIDE ONCE AGAIN TO BECOME TOGETHER (2 BECOME 1 - SPICE GIRLS), WILL YOU BE ABLE TO TRUST THEM? |

The MSM/MMM saga ressembles greatly the Pamela Anderson/Kid Rock affair!! Is it eternal love between the couple or do they rather accept separation and reunification as part of their everyday lives?
If i were for instance, a supporter of either MSM or MMM, the declarations of both leaders would only be an insult to my intelligence. It was not further than last week that Paul Berenger was showering praises on Pravin Jugnauth and vice-versa. And since friday, they started to quarrel. How can two leaders, one of them being former Prime Minister, (He will always be remembered as the Prime Minister with the shortest mandate in Mauritian history.) behave so childishly?
Instead of forming a constructive opposition and making positive critics on the government, for the advancement of our nation, they lose their time thinking who will assume which posts in the future. Critics from Paul Berenger against the government show how low he can stoop. Only one word can resume his doings, disgust!
Being member of the opposition does not mean to critisize everything done by the government, even if that thing is for the well-being of everyone. The advice to the Honourable members of the opposition would be to make positive critics and let the government continue in their work because they have a clear mandate from the public, winning the general elections, municipal elections and rural elections! |

Well Don, you have said it all! i agree most specifically with "Instead of forming a constructive opposition and making positive critics on the government, for the advancement of our nation, they lose their time thinking who will assume which posts in the future."
The part of the population who is still supporting Paul Berenger will certainly realise that he will not be a good leader. Actually, he did not make a good one, when he got his chance.
Mauritians aint that stupid. The MMM will lose its supporters with time. |
